Sad to say, no matter how much I want it, chocolate isn't one of the food groups. Although I have read
that dark chocolate is good for you, naturally, I prefer milk chocolate.
The food pyramid has changed a lot since I was a kid. Well, that is, if you
research a food pyramid, there are a whole lot more takes on it than I remember. Still, most pyramids have
around five or six groups to enjoy in varying amounts. 1. Rice, Grains, Pasta
(including whole wheat, corn bread, brown rice and oatmeal). 2. Vegetables
(The more colors you can include the better!) 3. Fruits (Berries and Melons. I
read that blueberries are a superfood.) 4. Protein (Nuts, beans, lentils,
meat, fish and eggs.) 5. Dairy (Milk, cheese, yogurt and soy products.) and 6.
Water (Eight glasses a day! Yep, count 'em. Eight!)
